Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Lalibela
Arrival: Arrive in Lalibela, transfer to your hotel.
Activities: Visit the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the famous St. George’s Church and other remarkable rock-cut churches.
Overnight: Lalibela
Day 2: Lalibela – Awash National Park
Morning: Early breakfast and departure for a scenic drive to Awash National Park.
Afternoon: Arrive at Awash National Park, and check in at the lodge.
Activities: Afternoon game drive to see wildlife such as Beisa oryx, Soemmering’s gazelle, and various bird species.
Overnight: Awash National Park Lodge
Day 3: Awash National Park – Harar
Morning: Morning game drive and visit the Awash River Falls.
Afternoon: Depart for Harar, a historic walled city.
Evening: Arrive in Harar, and check in at the hotel.
Overnight: Harar
Day 4: Harar – Mekele
Morning: Explore Harar, visiting the Jugol (the old walled city), the Rimbaud House, and local markets.
Afternoon: Fly from Dire Dawa to Mekele.
Evening: Arrive in Mekele and transfer to the hotel.
Overnight: Mekele
Day 5: Mekele – Hamed Ela
Morning: Depart Mekele for Hamed Ela, passing through stunning landscapes and villages.
Afternoon: Arrive at Hamed Ela, and set up camp.
Evening: Sunset over the salt flats.
Overnight: Camp at Hamed Ela
Day 6: Hamed Ela – Dallol – Mekele
Morning: Early start to visit the salt mines and the colorful sulfur springs of Dallol.
Afternoon: Return to Mekele.
Evening: Arrive in Mekele and transfer to the airport for departure.
